Day 5: Guilt and Forgiveness

Guilt and Forgiveness

(Joe)        It’s time to learn that forgiveness is a two-way street. When you pray and wish to forgive someone for a slight that they have done to you, that is good. This is something that cleanses the soul. Asking God for forgiveness for your own shortcomings is also good but when have you ever forgiven yourself? When you learn to love yourself then you will be able to also forgive yourself just as God forgives you. When you can love yourself first then you can also forgive others.

(Jesus)*   Stop looking at it as “I” am forgiving you, and look at it as “You” are forgiving you. For when you look at yourself as a piece of me and you’re asking for forgiveness, you are truly just releasing negative energies from your, as you say, “Snow globe.” You are releasing these negative energies because you say “I am done! These are not mine anymore.” The reason why people hold onto this guilt is because they feel unworthy of forgiveness; there is no recognition, nothing is shown to them that is tangible that says “Good job for asking for forgiveness, you’ve passed, you’re approved.” So, one must just truly believe that they are forgiven and understand that sometimes mistakes are made. So, when you ask how you forgive yourself for things that you have done, you do not even need to ask, so to speak, just know that I have already forgiven you. For you will have the wisdom necessary to not do the injustice again.
